Lorraine Kritzinger

Registered Counsellor

My areas of experience include working with people of all ages who have experienced trauma as a result of crime, divorce, domestic violence, accidents and bereavement.  I also provide psychological support to children, adolescents, adults, families and couples who are experiencing relationship and adjustment challenges.

I began my career in the field of psychology as a trauma worker and have worked in various settings such as children’s homes, women’s shelters and schools.  As well as working in private practice I am involved in Kids Voices, an organisation which provides play therapy for children who have been exposed to trauma or who are experiencing social or emotional difficulties.

I am also currently involved in a trauma focused Cognitive behaviour therapy research study for adolescents in South Africa.  This approach was developed in the United States and research has shown its effectiveness in alleviating symptoms in children and adolescents who have experienced trauma.

As a Registered Counsellor I am committed to providing accessible psychological services which focus on support and promote enhancement of wellbeing to individuals, couples, families and groups in our community.
