Locally hand made little dolls in their own bag with their own little story
Their job is to listen to your worries and fears and take care of them so that you can carry on and do what you need to do. Take the dolls out of the bag and tell them what is worrying you. Then put them back in the bag and let them look after your worries.
Worry dolls originated in Guatemala. Folklore tells of children telling their worries to little dolls, made of scraps of material. The idea is that the dolls take care of (not solve) the children’s worries freeing them up to get on with other things.
For many children just talking about the things that are worrying them, is already a step closer to knowing, understanding and managing worries, fears and anxieties. These dolls can be used with children as a support or as an adjunct to play therapy.
